Improving today's workplaces: Brighter offices mean brighter staff

Whilst many of us will probably never work in offices the likes of those occupied by giants Google or Innocent Drinks, there is no reason why most of us should have to work in dark and dingy areas with no hint of colour or brightness.

Currently, the trend is stylish combinations of colours with matt silver which give a sense of warmth yet brightness to the surroundings. Likewise, seating can be made up in combinations of colours, the back may be lime green, the seat pad black, and screens around the office may be a combination of the two. More and more seating and screens are being chosen in numerous colours for single offices, to give a bright, energetic feel to the workplace.

Additionally, efficient use of space is another very important aspect that impacts on the staff’s safety and general wellbeing. Just as dark, poorly lit offices contribute to staff being unwell and suffering stress, so too can piles of paperwork and files being stacked on every available surface, giving a sense of doom and discomfort. An office refurbishment that does away with unsightly piles of paper and equipment will not only create the illusion of a larger space, but will work wonders for the overall mood of your team and their general job satisfaction.
